Who We Are
The Hospital Auxiliary was formed in 1974 as a service to Hilton Head Hospital, one year before the opening of the hospital. We currently support two hospitals, Hilton Head Hospital and Coastal Carolina Hospital, as well as the Bluffton-Okatie Outpatient Center, Bluffton Medical Campus and Tidewatch Emergency Center.
The Hospital Auxiliary is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to assisting those people and their families in Hilton Head Island, Bluffton and the surrounding areas who are most in need.
Our Mission: The purpose of The Hospital Auxiliary shall be to render assistance and comfort to the patients of Hilton Head Regional Healthcare and its affiliates and to their families and friends through an in-service volunteer program, and to enrich the quality of life, health and education of the residents of Hilton Head Island, Bluffton and surrounding areas.
What We Do
One of the most important things the Auxiliary does is provide communication and support to our hospital volunteers, whose service allows us to provide an enhanced experience to patients, families and visitors, and supportive services to medical staff.
Through our fundraising efforts, we are able to assist people and families in our communities who are most in need. Our volunteer program is open to men and women from all walks of life. Opportunities are available in numerous departments, including: • Greeter & Information Desk • Gift Shops • Emergency Room • Outpatient & Same Day Surgery • Courtesy Shuttle
Interested in Becoming a Volunteer? Visit our website at www.hhiaux.org and click under Volunteers for more information. Each volunteer must receive a health screening, background check and comprehensive orientation training. This ensures well-prepared volunteers who are ready to serve. You can volunteer at Hilton Head Hospital or Coastal Carolina Hospital.
