Volunteers are needed to help in our two not-for-profit gift shops at Hilton Head Hospital and Coastal Carolina Hospital. All proceeds from our gift shops support The Hospital Auxiliary’s programs which help our local patients and residents requiring financial support.
Volunteers will follow the instructions of the Gift Shop Manager to assist with different job duties in the Gift Shop.
Volunteer activities may include the following:
- Greet patients and family entering the Gift Shop.
- Assist with receiving product and product display.
- Cash handling/operate cash register.
- Answer phones and take orders for gifts to be delivered to patients.
- Organize, clean, and make the shop attractive.
- Interact with staff, patients, and patient families.
Additional Details:
- Moderate lifting/carrying/pushing.
- Be able to commit to volunteering once a week for a three-hour shift.
- Able to follow and execute instructions.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Able to work well with diverse populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sensitive to patient and family situations / dynamics.
