Southern Lowcountry affiliate of the South Carolina Association for Volunteer Administration (SoLo SCAVA)

Do you help recruit, manage, and/or retain volunteers for your organization or company? Are you interested in joining your peers to learn more about how to do so successfully?

SCAVA is the South Carolina Association for Volunteer Administration, a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities and professional development to individuals with an interest in the field of volunteerism with local affiliates across the state.

SoLo SCAVA is a newly formed SCAVA affiliate covering Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper Counties. Membership is extended to individuals who wish to learn more about volunteerism, develop new skills, or shape the future of volunteerism in the southern lowcountry. SoLo SCAVA will offer information and workshops focusing on issues pertinent to volunteers and volunteer administration.

You can find out more at an open informational meeting on Thursday, September 21st at 8:30 a.m. at Palmetto Electric facilities in Hardeeville. Please RSVP by clicking on the "Yes" button near the top right corner of this screen!

Southern Lowcountry is an affiliate of the South Carolina Association for Volunteer Administration (SCAVA), a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities and professional development to individuals with an interest in the field of volunteerism. SoLo SCAVA is one of several affiliates across South Carolina that are managed by a local volunteer committee, who determine the direction and program offerings for the affiliate.

 

Purpose

To promote volunteerism and volunteer administration throughout Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper Counties

 

Goals

  • To provide a local forum for the expression for common concerns and sharing of experiences regarding the use of volunteers in the community.
  • To provide opportunities for professional growth, to maximize volunteer contributions to the community and to keep attuned to new opportunities and resources available within the field of volunteer service in the local community.
  • To serve as an advocate in the community, seeking to raise the level of public understanding and participation in the volunteer movement.
  • To uphold volunteer administration as a profession by promoting a high standard of ethics and standards.
  • To encourage the proper utilization and recognition of volunteer skills and services and to enhance the role and dignity of the volunteer.
  • To provide members with opportunities to share and exchange knowledge and experiences in the creative use of volunteer service.

 

Membership

Membership is $35 per calendar year per person. There is no cost or no commitment required to attend this informational meeting!
