Who We Are
The Sandbox is a hands-on interactive children's museum where children up through age 12 years and their caregivers can learn to play and play to learn. We have two convenient locations, one on Hilton Head at the Lowcountry Celebration Park and one in Bluffton at the Tanger 2 outlets. We were established in 2005 and serve not only those children and families who live and work in the Lowcountry but also those who visit from all over the world.
What We Do
The Sandbox: An Interactive Children’s Museum is a non-profit children’s museum dedicated to the
positive development of young children through play. The museum offers quality educational and
family-oriented exhibits, events, and programs. We believe that children learn about love, trust, and
self-worth through interactive play with a parent of caregiver. This is critical for the
development of young children. Families need spaces in which to foster
relationships with one another and other families, thereby forming community. Play provides a
natural opportunity for these relationships to form and strengthen. We provide a stimulating,
educational setting for children and their caregivers to play and learn together.
