

Who We Are
The Coastal Discovery Museum is a cultural and environmental museum located on Hilton Head Island, SC. Housed on the historic Honey Horn property, the Museum connects people to the Lowcountry through its unique blend of nature, history, culture, and art. Visitors can explore trails, marshes, and gardens; discover exhibits that highlight the region’s past and present; and enjoy hands-on programs that bring the stories of the Lowcountry to life.
At its heart, the Museum is dedicated to inspiring people to care for the Lowcountry—encouraging the protection of its environment and the preservation of its heritage for generations to come.
What We Do
The Coastal Discovery Museum inspires people to care for the Lowcountry.
Together with our visitors, we:
- Discover the connections between air, land, water, and living things—building greater environmental awareness.
- Explore the region’s history, culture, and art—deepening our understanding of ourselves and fostering empathy for others.
- Take action toward a more sustainable and inclusive future—preserving the Lowcountry for generations to come.
