Evolution Big Band

The Evolution Big Band performs modern arrangements of popular jazz standards and today’s contemporary big band music for concert and dance venues in support of charitable causes.

The Evolution Big Band is committed to keeping big band music alive, relevant and contemporary.  With a library of more than 2,000 arrangements, performances are custom designed to fit a wide variety of tastes and occasions, and performed by some of the top jazz musicians in the Lowcountry. Founded in 2004, this all-volunteer organization has helped various charitable organizations raise more than $180,000 to support their causes.

The band welcomes talented musicians who are willing to volunteer their time and talents on a weekly basis and support the band's mission by helping non-profit organizations raise awareness and funding through concert events featuring the Evolution Big Band.  Please contact our Executive Director Jeff Shawd at  for more information. 

The Evolution Big Band mission is focused on keeping big band music thriving and supporting numerous worthy charitable causes throughout the Lowcountry.  Since our founding, we have helped non-profit organizations generate more than $180,000 to support their efforts.
