Expectations
1. Available at least once a year for 3 consecutive days to volunteer to help others in your community after a major disaster like a hurricane.*

2. Participate in training for roles to help people with emergency sheltering, meal delivery and other essentials before, during and after a disaster.

3. A personal drive to make your community stronger and safer for everyone in need.

Whether you prefer more flexible, on-demand opportunities or regularly scheduled shifts, our user-friendly mobile app makes it easy to pick up shifts that fit your schedule. Flexible Shifts: Enjoy the flexibility of on-demand or scheduled shifts, allowing you to pick up deliveries that fit your schedule.
Help save lives by transporting life-saving blood or blood products to local hospitals and sites within the region to help patients in need.
Stay connected using the Red Cross Delivers mobile app on your smartphone to efficiently navigate between delivery sites and quickly get blood products to customers in urgent need.
Lend a hand by collecting empty boxes and returning them to distribution sites as needed.
Support our mission by delivering essential supplies to blood collection sites as required.
Keep us organized by completing electronic documentation accurately.

Qualifications
Ideal candidates live or work within 30 minutes of the distribution site, ensuring quick and efficient response times, preferred
Willingness to support the Red Cross mission, required
Valid state driver’s license and 3 years of licensed driving experience, required
Age 18+, required
Comfortable using smart phones and mobile apps, required
Ability to lift 45 lbs., required
Familiarity with geographic area and driving routes, required
Able to verify safe driving record (Note: An MVR check will be completed as a part of the interview process for this position), required
Current insurance and state registration if using personal vehicle, required
Successful completion of American Red Cross Transportation Specialist Training and Defensive Driving course and Red Cross Delivers Training, required

Volunteer: Service To Armed Forces: Hero Care Network Regional Caseworker

Provide service at the Chapter or Hero Care Network Center:

Support the Red Cross mission of preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies Maintain strict confidentiality of any case notes, names and other personal information in accordance with Red Cross policies Support and follow Service to Armed Forces (SAF) policies, procedures and protocols related to Red Cross client services Interview callers; coordinate requests for service to include recording all client info into the SAF Case Management System; perform outbound activities including: obtaining verifications; delivering messages; coordinating case management services with the jurisdictional chapter/station, and/or providing other follow-up actions needed for complete and timely client service; understand and apply Red Cross and SAF policies consistently and correctly Determine eligibility for Red Cross services by assessing client needs and providing appropriate service to clients including referrals to other agencies Make follow-up calls to military members and/or families to determine additional needs; log case notes. Acquire a working knowledge of local, state and federal resources aiding military members, families and veterans Maintain professionalism and conduct as stated in Red Cross policy
