Expectations
1. Available at least once a year for 3 consecutive days to volunteer to help others in your community after a major disaster like a hurricane.*
2. Participate in training for roles to help people with emergency sheltering, meal delivery and other essentials before, during and after a disaster.
3. A personal drive to make your community stronger and safer for everyone in need.

1. The Red Cross provides in-person and virtual training for various disaster relief roles as a shelter volunteer.
2. Various connections to other Red Cross preparedness resources and lifesaving training
3. Help your community engage in its ability to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies
*During the application process a Red Cross representative will detail further expectations based on your volunteer position and be available to answer any questions you may have.
