Mission Statement “TO ENGAGE YOUNG ADULTS OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA IN THE ART OF LEADERSHIP IN HELPING THEM DEVELOP AND ENHANCE THOSE SKILLS NECESSARY TO EXCEL IN THEIR FUTURE ENDEAVORS.” The long term vision is to engage students throughout the State of South Carolina and continue to engage them post-graduation to encourage their practice of the art of leadership. In doing so this effort will lead to a cohort of young adults poised to make a significant impact on the future of South Carolina.
SCYLC conducts two, four day conferences each spring for the purpose of teaching personal leadership to high school sophomores as identified by their school administrators. SCYLC is currently working with over 60 high schools throughout South Carolina including all those in Beaufort and nearby counties. These schools have sent over 70 students to the conference in the past five years.” We also hold classes throughout the school year for all ninth grade students at both Hilton Head Island HS and May River HS
