Sandalwood Community Food Pantry

Sandalwood Community Food Pantry is a non-denominational, non-profit 501(c)(3) helping families make ends meet by supplementing their monthly groceries in time of need. Established in 2009, the SCFP was formed when one woman decided to address the growing issue of hunger in children at Sandalwood Terrace Apartments on Hilton Head Island. Our clients are everyday people with families, responsibilities and aspirations. They are our neighbors, struggling and in need of a helping hand and faced with the daily delimma of choosing which of life's basic needs to go without - including food. We serve over 700 families at our free choice pantry throughout the year distributing fresh produce, dairy, protein, breads and desserts along with basic need items. 

Our mission is to nourish the bodies, minds and spirits of all who Hunger because Hunger Hurts! We go to the people, learn from them and love them. We start with what they know and build on what they have, always remembering that the best of leaders, when their task is accomplished will hear the people say, Look what we have done!" These families grace us with their trust and friendship, gratitude and powerful witnessing, always reminding us that people much more than things have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed; but never thrown out!
